About Emisshield

Emisshield, Inc. manufactures and distributes high emissivity coating systems, the technology NASA developed for spacecraft thermal protection, licensed exclusively in 2001 and engineered since into 40+ products serving industry on six continents. The mission has not changed: conserve energy, enhance production, and reduce carbon intensity in the world's heat-driven industries.

Where did Emisshield come from?

The core technology was designed at NASA's Ames Research Center for the X-33 and X-34 space vehicle programs. Emisshield licensed it in 2001 and did what licensing alone never guarantees: two decades of formulation R&D that developed one space-derived material into a third-generation product catalog matched to every industrial substrate, metals, refractory, and ceramic fiber, non-toxic, with the strongest adhesion and highest sustained temperatures on the market, proven in hydrocarbon processing, steel and aluminium, glass, power, ethanol, kilns, and crematories. In 2021, the Space Foundation inducted Emisshield into the Space Technology Hall of Fame for that achievement.

What does Emisshield believe?

Industrial process heat is the world's largest energy bill and its most recoverable waste. Thermal assets operating with low-emissivity surfaces consume fuel they do not need to consume. Making high emissivity the default in fired equipment is both the business and the contribution to lower industrial emissions.

How do Emisshield's engineers work with customers?

Assessment through the engineering questionnaire, formulation match, certified application, measured verification against baseline. The engineer who models the asset signs the projection; the case study that follows carries the measured numbers.
